Research shows that most of what we build creates little or no value for our users and the business. To break away from this harsh reality, you need to adopt a different system, one that combines human judgment with evidence.
In this book, Itamar Gilad presents an actionable model to bring evidence-guided development into your organization. Combining tried-and-tested methods with tools created by the author, Evidence-Guided offers a systematic approach—the GIST model (Goals, Ideas, Steps, and Tasks)—to help you create high-impact products.
You'll learn how to choose the right outcomes, prioritize ideas, build and learn at a fast pace, and collaborate more effectively with teammates, managers, and stakeholders. The book provides principles, models, processes, and tools (such as the popular Confidence Meter shown below) all demonstrated through real-world examples and infused with nuance gained through years of practice.
Enter the prize draw by referring 5 friends to Axel’s Bento.
🎁 There are 3 eBook copies to win!!!
Winners will be announced in a couple of weeks.
To enter the draw, you must refer at least 5 friends while being logged in with your substack account (otherwise I have no way to know who you are 😅).
✨ Make It Stick!
A PM Intro to Making your Ideas Less Forgettable - Pt. I
In this edition’s article, we wanted to deep dive into the art of storytelling: its myths, misconceptions, and actionable steps you can take in your day-to-day as a product person to ramp up your practice.
Our guest writer Damien Grandjean shares his learnings in the first part of this new series, answering common questions such as the gains from being a better storyteller, the ideal profile of a storyteller (spoiler alert: you don’t need to be extroverted!), and the recipe of any good story.
🏞️ Worthy Eateries
Last week, I had lunch with Louisa at Datil, one of the most anticipated restaurant openings this fall.
The 5-course meal was more like 9-course.
Louisa and I had collaborated on a few things, but never met IRL.
This was the perfect opportunity to catch up, specially as she won the draw from the past edition of my Bento 🍱.
The lunch was perfectly executed with amazing pairings from Valentine, the cheffe sommelière.
The menu, themed around corn and other beautiful in-season produce, was carefully thought through and definitely low-waste. Most of the dishes showcased plant-based ingenuity and were simply and deliciously precise.
We were greeted by Manon, the cheffe, towards the end of the service, and she thanked us for our patronage.
The restaurant business is suffering all across France as a result of the economic downturn. It is often the toughest on fine-dining, as it is a game of serious margin optimisation.
I was happy we could experience this amazing spot while supporting the restaurant at such a critical time.
Check out Datil, it’s really, really worth it!
A Michelin-worthy table with a 5-course lunch menu at €65.
This is definitely not a sponsored post. Just genuine love for good food. 💛
🎧 Product Squad is back baby!
This week, the new season of Product Squad started with a BANG! 💥 with Superhuman’s President, Paul Teyssier.
Next up, I’m excited to share my conversation with Lea Hickman, a partner at Silicon Valley Product Group.
I met Lea in London in May 2022 when I had the chance to spend 3 days in London with the SVPG Partnership for their inaugural Coaching the Coaches session.
People tend to think SVPG = Marty Cagan, but I’m happy to report there’s more than meets the eye.
